Nailed: Topshop Cloak & Dagger and Deborah Lippmann Today was a Fairytale

One of my colleagues has a serious Chanel nail polish addiction. Whenever a new collection is released, she wanders back from her lunch break with a groaning Chanel bag, which is quickly handed over to me so I can rifle through the contents and coo over colours.

I used to have way over 100 polishes but scaled back recently after I realised I would never wear most of them. What a fool I was! Yesterday, E introduced me to the Polish Police (that's 'polish' as in nail polish, not the country that borders Germany. Yes, yes, I know you'd guessed that already, but I don't want you thinking I'm straying massively off-topic to discuss continental policing. Anyway, I digress).

I spent a very happy hour this morning trawling through Pam's gorgeous images, and I have once again returned to my senses and know that there is no such thing as too many nail polishes (check out her incredible inventory page!) Thanks for the lesson, Pam!

So, I decided to ditch my usual simple mani in favour of something a little more 'weekend'. I'm not sporting a diamond on my ring finger, so I thought I'd go for the next best thing: Deborah Lippman glitter polish! (Actually, the next best thing would be a sapphire, but that doesn't fit with the point of the post).

Behold!

Apologies for the crappily short index finger nail: I snapped it this morning and just can't bear to cut the rest. And yes, I photographed before I tidied up the edges. I just couldn't wait!

Both polishes have been idling in my cupboard for months: Cloak & Dagger seemed too intense, and Today was a Fairytale quite the opposite and a bit frivolous. Worn together, I think they balance each other out perfectly.

I feel a polish splurge coming on...

  2. I loveeeee glitter and I'm loving this ;)
But I hate removing glitter polish. I do all the cotton and foil thing- such a pain but it's worth it.

I hate removing glitter too but it's sooo much easier when it's just two nails! X
